I wasn't going to look at my new Pottery Barn Sale catalog but I opened it up anyway and the first page I saw included these Kilim rugs. I went to the website and apparently they are found and limited edition. I have been looking for precisely this type of rug but didn't know the name. I went to purchase and they are all out except 1. The one available is quite small, 70 years old approx. and about $2,250. Hmm... I'm not in love with it so better not.
"Rich in culture and history, these stunning vintage kilims showcase the kind of rare character and enduring beauty that defines a true heirloom. Artfully hand woven by nomadic Turkish artisans anywhere from 60 to over 120 years ago, each of our limited-edition found kilims was carefully selected from a collector located in a historic district of Istanbul. Featuring the rich palettes and striking geometric motifs that the traditional floor coverings are known for, each completely unique kilim is flat woven of wool and cotton yarns that are colored with predominantly vegetable dyes, and features characteristic slits where two colors meet. Because they’re authentic vintage pieces, each individual kilim showcases one-of-a-kind details and beautiful variations. Imported. Use with our Standard Rug Pad (sold separately). " Found at Pottery Barn here.

these are beautiful kilims, but i'd prefer to purchase from Kilim.com http://www.kilim.com, the online store which i believe is the true source of kilim rugs and the prices are much more reasonable!
